As we celebrate Palm Sunday, we reflect upon the triumphant entry of the Lord Jesus Christ into Jerusalem. Men, women and children were worshipping Him and Praising Him. Everyone was not happy that day. The religious were furious and went to Jesus demanding that His followers stop. They recognized that Jesus was His followers were doing what was foretold in the Scriptures.
Zechariah 9: 9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: He is just, and having salvation: lowly, and riding upon a colt the foal of an ass.
Jesus made His entry into Jerusalem and there was shouting and praise unto God. The crowd was saying Hosanna; blessed is he that c ometh in the name of the Lord. They were celebrating the arrival of their Great King and Lord God.
Isn’t it amazing that even though Jesus went about doing good by healing the sick and delivering the captives, He was hated by some and they sat in motion to destroy Him. Isaiah said it right He was a man that was rejected and despised. He bore our guilt and sins upon His own body as our sacrificial lamb of God. He willingly laid down His life for us. The Innocent, Holy One took upon Himself all our sins and willing took the bitter cup by giving His Life and a ransom. While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. The innocent for the guilty. The Holy One for the filthy and sinful ones. We have all sinned and come short of God’s Glory.
When Christ made His Triumphant Entry into Jerusalem, He was met with worship and praise by some and hatred and rejection by others. The scriptures tell us that Christ first died for our sins and then rose from the dead; triumphant over death, hell and the grave. The Great King of Glory before He could be crowned King of kings and Lord of lords, first needed to conquer sin and the penalty of sin and that is death.
He truly is victorious over death, hell and the grave. Let us crown Him, worship Him and Magnify Him for He truly is Worthy of all Praise.
Has Jesus Christ made His Triumphant entry into your heart? Has He defeated the enemy of sin and given you the gift of the Holy Ghost? That’s what it is all about. Sealing us with the Holy Spirit of Promise.
Joy is a state of mind. It is a condition of the heart. Nehemiah went back to Jerusalem. Israel had been exiled for 70 years because of their backsliding. The Babylonians had taken them captive, destroyed their Temple, demolished their walls, burned their city with fire. All that was left was the remnants of what once was. When Nehemiah felt burdened for the remnant of Jewish people still in the land and when he heard of their plight and poverty, he began to Pray and Seek God. He repented for his sins and the sins of his fathers and the whole Nation. Revival always begins with an admission of sin and guilt. Many want to blame this and that. Many want to point fingers at others and make excuses. Honesty comes into to play. Nehemiah became honest and included not only the sins of disobedience of his fathers, but also his own sins. When Nehemiah turned to God and humbly asked for forgiveness, God heard and began the process of revival.
The Scriptures tell us to humble ourselves under the mighty Hand of God and He will exalt us. God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. The Publican went to the house of God and would not even lift his head. He humbly asked God to forgive him because he admitted his sin. The scriptures tell us that if we hide our sin, we will not prosper. We need to repent and ask God to forgive us and restore us. This is what Nehemiah did and God heard him and began the process of restoration.
2 Chronicles 7: 14 If my people, which are called by my name shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
What a Great Promise God has given to us all. Humility and repentance will cleanse us and begin the restoration process.
Nehemiah came to a remnant that needed to return to God in their hearts. What he saw was what sin had done. The Bible tells us that the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ. Nehemiah saw rubble, ruins, disaster, poverty, fear, torment, everywhere he looks was despair. It looked impossible, but Nehemiah challenged the people of Israel to return to the Lord and when they began the re-building process, He reminded them that the Joy of the Lord was their strength. We cannot have Joy and sin in our hearts. We must be cleansed, and forgiven; then Joy will come in.
It is not time to be weak. It is time to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. We need to serve the Lord with Gladness. We need to take off heavy burdens and put on Christ. He promised that He came that our Joy might be full and His Joy remain in us.
The Joy of the Lord is Our Strength.
During the Recent controversy between Duck Dynasty Patriarch Phil Robertson and Various Corporations. Because of the recent public outcry, some of the Corporations have recanted their position and admitted they were wrong. I commend them for doing so, because in the beginning when some of these organizations began to “pile on”, they caused many including me to make a choice. I told my wife that I would not give business to anyone that denounced what Phil said. He was asked a question. He answered according to his faith and belief system. Every answer to a question is always subject to our beliefs, our convictions, our morals, our opinions and absolutes. Absolutes are what we view as Ultimate Authority. Christians view The Holy Scriptures as Absolute Authority. The Word of God is Final and Absolute Authority in the heart of a true believer. When we read the Bible, we do find strong rebuke and warnings. We find that some things are abominations in the eyes of God. Since we Believe Him and His Word, we too have to embrace His Teachings and Admonitions to repent and put off works of darkness. Even The Apostle Paul said that some things will not enter the Kingdom of God.
1 Corinthians 6: 9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the Kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulters, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10. Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall enter the kingdom of God. 11. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
We also find many other scriptures that tell us that God hates some actions and behaviors of some and commands all men everywhere to repent of their sins. Jesus said except we repent we shall perish. Sin is sin and sin must be dealt with and repented of. None of us can cast stones at another, because we have all sinned. We were born with a nature to sin. No one had to teach us how to sin, it was in our members.
Paul would be considered too direct and offensive in today’s society. Remember he was speaking to people that had been delivered and changed through conversion. Just like John the Baptist, he preached against sin. Some didn’t like what these men said. Some didn’t like what Stephen said in Acts 7. They stopped their ears and ran upon him like a pack of wild dogs. They resisted the truth preached to them. They gnashed him with their teeth, they stoned him to death. Some will come to the light and others will hate the light because their deeds are evil.
Let’s face it, many will reject the Truth and some will speak evil of the truth. It is the truth that will make us free. Only the Truth of God’s Word will liberate an individual and change our destiny. These men didn’t preach to rub peoples noses in it, he preached out of love. They preached to save souls and bring men to repentance. One of the problems we face in our world today is there are some that want to censor what Christians believe and say. There are those who want to broadcast and enforce their beliefs on others but they don’t want anyone else out there to have a say about God. The Bible tells us that God chose Preaching to save the World. How can men believe on God when they haven’t heard? Faith in God comes by hearing the Word of God. How can we hear without a preacher. Remember God chose preaching to save them that believe. Many want to censor what is being said. I do feel that what we say should be said in kindness, love and mercy, however, we cannot be ashamed of the Gospel of Christ. If we are ashamed of Him He will be ashamed of us. If we deny Him, He will deny us. A very popular Television commentator even took a stand and said how wrong Phil was. I normally like what this commentator has to say, but on this He was totally wrong. Phil was asked a question and the question needed t be answered. Why is it that everyone wants to silence the Christian Voice. Watering down the Gospel will have no one. The Bible speaks for itself and will judge us all. If we are wise, we will listen and obey.
We must understand that Phil was most likely baited. Baiting has been going on for a long, long time. They did it when Jesus walked among men. The Pharisees, and Lawyers, known to be haters of Jesus, would often try to trick Him into answering a question that would place Him in disagreement with the Law of Moses. They stood in every meeting, listening, critiquing, and criticizing His every word and deed. They would ask Him questions to try and trap him. The motives of their questions were not because they were hungry for truth. The motives were, simply they hated Him for His words and Preaching.
These are my thoughts based on Knowledge and Faith in Jesus Christ. God weighs the spirits of men.
Matthew 2: 1 ¶ Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
3 When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
While this world has seen great and monumental change, when it comes down to it, two thousand years have not changed the mentality and condition of men’s hearts. We truly are living in troublesome times. A time that men’s hearts are failing them for fear of the things coming upon the world. Our world is troubled by many things. Troubled by hatred, troubled by greed, troubled by malice, troubled by evil, troubled by selfishness, troubled by perversion, troubled by racism, troubled by evil doers, troubled by pride and arrogance. Sin is the root cause of the trouble we are seeing today. As a matter of fact the things I mentioned above, are only a few of the problems we face today. These things are the results of sin. Sin has passed upon the whole human race. The Bible tell us that sin is the root cause of all man’s problems.
Christ came into the world for one purpose and that was to save sinners from their sins. He was born to be the sacrifice for sins. He was destined to die for the guilty. He came to seek and to save them that were under the law of sin and death. Christ is the answer for what troubles the world today. He is the only answer to sin. The Creator of Heaven and Earth came in the form of man to save us from our sins.
2Co 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
All have sinned and all need The Savior. The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
The Bible tells us that many were troubled in the days of Christ’s Birth.
When Herod and all of Jerusalem heard the disturbing words about the birth of Christ, he was greatly troubled, but not only him, all of Jerusalem was troubled over this announcement. “Where is he that is born King of the Jews?” This provoked men to be troubled. This caused men’s ears to perk up. This cause deep thought about what was going on in the world and especially their hearts. Herod was troubled that another King would replace him and he was so determined not to allow that to happen, he ordered a decree to have all the male infants slaughtered. he would not be dethroned. He would slay and kill any possibility that another King could replace him. We could see that Herod had a reason of selfishness and greed as to why he would be troubled, but all of Jerusalem with him? Why would all of Jerusalem be troubled? No doubt, men were is a comfort zone and they didn’t want anything to interrupt business as usual. They were content to continue a life that appeased the carnal nature of humanity.
Christ did come and fulfilled the plan of salvation for all the human race. God is no respecter of persons, but in every nation, he that feareth him and worketh righteousness is accepted of Him. Christ is coming again this time, not as a babe born in a manger. This time He is coming back as King of kings and Lord of lords. He is coming back in an hour that many are not looking for Him. When He comes again, no doubt that He will appear in a troublesome time.
2 Thessalonians 1: 7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.
During this Christmas season, let us wholeheartedly turn our hearts toward God in repentance. Let us pray and seek His blessing upon our families. Let us turn to Him in Faith and expectation. While we live in a troubled world, Christ is the answer.
Psalms 100: 1 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord all ye lands. 2 Serve the Lord with gladness: come before His presence with singing. 3. Know ye that the Lord He is God: it is he that hath made us and not we ourselves; we are the sheep of His Pasture. 4. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise; be thankful unto Him and bless His Holy Name. 5. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endureth to all generations.
The scriptures admonish us the serve the Lord with Gladness. He and He alone is God. There is none like Him. He is the One True God. The Only Potentate and king of Glory. What a privilege it is to know Him. He is worthy of all praise. One of the greatest revelations of life is to know our Creator and Redeemer. Knowing Him is a great joy and Serving God is a privilege and we should recognize it as such. There is a state of mind that we need to bring into conformity with God’s Word. Serve Him with gladness, be thankful, Bless His Holy Name.
As believers we need to count our blessings. The Bible even tells us to count it all joy, even when we fall into divers temptations. We should rejoice and be glad that we can identify with Him. Things don’t always go the way we want them to, however, The Lord is for us and if God be for us who can be against us. Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world.
Serving God with Gladness is a condition of the heart, a state of mind. Serving God with Gladness is not an option. We need to put off complaining and every negative thought. Serving God with Gladness is the key to victory. We need to resist the temptation to complain and murmur. We need to remind ourselves daily that We belong to Him. He is the Good Shepherd. He gave His all to us and we have a reason to rejoice. We have a reason to be glad. In this world there are many struggles and trials, however, we can be glad and serve Him with gladness. Don’t allow things or people to speak negative things into your spirit. Celebrate, Rejoice, and Be Glad, Be Thankful. He is on the Throne.
Genesis 1: 1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2. And the earth was without form and void; and darkness covered the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3. And God said, Let there be light; and there was light.
In lesson one, we find that GOD created the heaven and the earth. The earth was without form, and void and darkness dwelt upon the face of the deep. The Spirit of God moved the face of the deep and spoke.
In our first lesson we saw that without God, nothing is going to happen. Creation is a Sovereign act of Almighty God. He alone is the Creator. He alone is the Author and He is also the finisher. Without Him we can do nothing. When we behold the orderliness of His Creation, we can only say, what a mighty God. The Bible assures us that He declares the end from the beginning. I am glad that He is The Author and Finisher. He that began a good work in us will perform it. That means He will Finish His Work. All things were made by Him and for Him. My Faith and Hope is in Him. He cannot and will not fail.
We also studied that there is a strong comparison between the Empty Void, and Chaos that we find the Earth in and the emptiness and chaos of a soul without God. Transformation begins when the Spirit moves. We need a move of God. We need to invite Him to have His way. We need to yearn for Him and Call upon Him and Seek Him until we find Him and He rains His Righteousness in us.
In Him we are made complete. In Him we move, we breathe and we have our being.
The Second thing that happened in Creation was God Spoke. Also, in a life when the Spirit of God begins His transformation, God speaks his word in us and things begin to happen. We begin the process of being changed into His likeness. Old things begin to pass away and new things begin to develop. We walk in Newness of Life. When God’s word speaks New Hearts are given. Desires and thoughts change. The God of Miracles speaks into us and we are changed into His Image. We are delivered from sin, Chaos is replaced by decency and orderliness. Confusion is replaced by a sound mind. We receive a new heart. We find ourselves hating the things that once ruled over us. We find love instead of hate. We find Peace instead of turmoil. We find joy in place of gloom and despair. Isaiah prophesied about the Savior giving beauty for ashes. The oil of joy in place of mourning. The garment of praise in place of the spirit of heaviness.
God’s Word begins its process of transformation and line upon line, precept upon precept; we are changed and brought into the marvelous light of His Gospel.
We must always have a hunger and appreciation for His Spoken Word. It is the only way that God has chosen to save mankind. It is the Preaching of the Word, the Spoken Word that brings faith and enlightenment and understanding. His Word heals. His Word saves. His Word Transforms un into His image. Let His Word speak into your heart and produce positive results. God chose Preaching to save them that believe.
Believe His Word.
Genesis 1: 1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2. And the earth was without form and void; and darkness covered the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
The earth that we behold today is a beautiful creation. The orderliness of the planetary system. The distances from the sun and moon and other planets were divinely performed by a God that is bigger than all the heavens itself. What a mighty God. There is none like Him. He was before all things. He is the beginning and the end. The first and the last. The only true God.
No wonder Paul said, in Him we move, we breath, we have our being. He formed man from the dust of the earth and breathed life into him and man became a living soul. David said our bodies are fearfully and wonderfully made. When you think of the complexity of the human body and all the organs and functions, it is a testimony of the Power and Knowledge of Almighty God.
The Scriptures tell us that The earth was made of things that do not appear. Some have wondered how the earth was in the condition that the Bible describes. Was it a judgment of the fallen angels that sinned? Was it a stage of creation when God took nothing and began the process of creation? I wasn’t there, but I know that He was and The Bible states the fact that I accept; In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. It describes the earth at this stage as without form and void and darkness covered the face of the deep.
I know that this also describes a state of worthlessness, a state of emptiness and barren of life. It describes chaos and confusion, nothing recognizable and significant. The Bible tells us that the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the deep. Then God began to speak and we see today the results of a beautiful creation. The Majestic Mountains, the Mighty Seas, The Rolling meadows and the plains. God created a beautiful earth.
This also describes a life without Christ. We are complete in him. Without Him we are nothing. Our lives are void, our lives are incomplete. Our lives are without true purpose and worth. When a person is without God, their life is in darkness and chaos reigns. Sin has reigned over man for about six thousand, but I want you to know that Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners. God Himself the Creator came in the likeness of man to redeem and restore man to Himself. God was in Christ reconciling man unto Himself. He willing laid down His life for you and me. Greater love hath no man than this. What a Gracious and Merciful God.
The Bible tells us that God moved upon the face of the deep, dark, void, chaos and empty earth and change His Power to create went to work. I am glad that when God moves upon the dark, chaos filled and empty lives of men, that true transformation takes place. Only God can change the nature of man. Only God can change the course and destiny of man and make his life a beautiful thing. God moved then and He still does today. Our world needs a move of God. Will you seek Him for a move of God? Will you call upon Him and seek Him with all your heart. He really can and does change men’s hearts.
Hebrews 6: 1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, 2. Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of the laying on of hands, and of the resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
John 5: 28 Marvel not at this; for the hour is coming. in the which all that are in the graves shall hear His voice, 29 And shall come forth; they have have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil unto the resurrection of damnation.
The Resurrection of the dead is a foundational doctrine of the Church. There is coming a day when all shall stand before him and shall be rewarded for their words, and deeds.
Rev. 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled awa; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God: and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
The Resurrection of the dead will come and there will be no hiding place for men. Many will seek to escape but there will be no hiding place. Some will cry out to the mountians to fall on them and hide them from the face of the one sitting upon the throne. The scoffer will be without excuse, the atheist will be without excuse. The idolator will be without excuse. The procrastinator will be with out excuse. There will be no opportunity to make things right on resurrection day. He is coming again. What a day that will be. The scriptures tell us that day will catch many unaware. He is coming in a day and hour that many will not be looking for Him. Surely every Knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. He will come back Paul said at the last trump. The trumpet shall sound and the dead in Christ shall rise first and then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them to meet the Lord in the Air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord. This speaks of a comforting resurection. A resurection of the Saint of God.
There are different resurrections in the last days. A resurrection of Beleivers and a Resurection of non beleivers. The Bible says blessed and holy is he that has part in the first resurrection. The Resurection is a Foundational Doctrine of The Church. We need to get ready against that day and hour. In other words we need to humble ourselves and submit ourselves unto God. His reward is with Him to give every man according to his works. He is the Righteous God. He makes no errors concerning our destiny. As Christians we need to live in a satte of preparedness because we do not know the day or the hour when He shall appear.
Men today, if they don’t want to face an upcoming event, they cancel, delay or pospone. In that day, there will be no option, no hiding place. We shall all meet the Creator and Redeemer, the Holy One that reighns. He will come again, and You will stand before Him and give account.
The resurrection of the dead is a powerful doctrine of the Church indeed. It talks about God raising us up to sit together in heavenly places. It is in reference to the Resurection of beleivers who are filled with His Spirit and Baptized in His name. They were once dead in sins and trespasses against God, but they they are raised up to walk in newness of life.
Let us Prepare ourselves and Hear Him say, well done thou good and faithful servant.
In the Bible we find men approaching Jesus with tough questions. These questions were well thought out. Some of these questions were designed to attempt to trap Jesus so they could uses his answers against Him by saying that He was in disagreement with the Law of Moses. These men asked with an agenda, they were not curious, they were not seeking God for answers, they were not trying to come to a better understanding, they simply had the motive to justify themselves. Their motive was to explain away or excuse their condition and their belief. What is in the hearts of men that we feel that we must justify our actions and beliefs even at the sake of violating known ethics.
Luke 10: 25 And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?
27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind: and thy neighbor as thyself.
28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do and thou shalt live.
29 But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbor?
This man knew the answer. He knew what was right, he knew what was expected. Fair balances, Equity, and Righteousness was expected by God regarding His People. This lawyer simply wanted to be selective in his application. He wanted to justify himself.
Men often caught in a weakness, point fingers in every direction but themselves. It has been stated that when we point a finger at others three more are pointing back at us. The blame game is played. Men begin to justify themselves and not take responsibility for their actions and behavior. In the Garden, God asked the man Adam what he had done and immediately Adam said, “The woman You gave me…” He was blaming God as well as His wife. When God asked the woman, Eve said, “The serpent…” Since God was the creator of all things, she was blaming God and the serpent. Again we find that sin is often explained away in order to justify itself. Cain, Adam and Eve’s son murdered their other son, Abel. Cain was self willed and disobedient and he attempted to justify himself and expected God to accept his offering even though it was not right and he knew it was not right. In his anger of being rejected he ignored the admonition of God to simply repent and do what was right. In stead he willing to justify his wrong when out and slew his brother.
Because of the nature of sin, man can never justify himself. All have sinned and have come short of God’s Glory. There are none righteous, no not one. All we like sheep have gone astray.
The Bible tells us of two men that went to the Temple to Pray, one was a Publican and the other was a Pharisee. The Publican fell upon his face and began to ask for mercy. He admitted that he needed forgiveness and Pardon. He needed a changed heart. He admitted guilt, he confessed his sins and asked God for Mercy. The Pharisee, in an attempt to justify himself, began t tell God how good he was. He stood upright and said, Lord I thank you that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust adulterers or even as this publican, I fast twice a week, I tithe of all that I possess. Jesus responded that the Publican that admitted guilt and was sorrowful for his sins left there that day justified.
Justification only comes from God. If we attempt to justify ourselves we will deceive ourselves as well. The Bible gives us the direction for us to humble ourselves and seek his face and repent of our sins. That is the only way that Justification can come. It doesn’t come to the Proud or arrogant, or disobedient. It comes by admission that we need a Savior. The only Savior of mankind is Jesus Our Lord. He is the Way, The Truth, and The Life.
Faith in Christ Jesus and His Redemptive Works, Justifies us and saves us from wrath. Abraham was justified when his works were in agreement with God. Rahab the Harlot was justified by her Faith and Works. When we repent of our sins, are Baptized in His Saving Name, Jesus, and Receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost, we too are Justified. It does matter what you do and how you live. You can go though life and on the day of judgement and attempt to justify yourself or you can become submissive and obedient to God and let His works Justify you.
1 Corinthians 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the Name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
Paul was saying that these Corinthians who were once deep in sin, were now justified by their faith and their response of obedience to the Gospel.
Recently our Nation was once again caught off guard by terrorist. Terrorism is a terrible thing among humanity. To kill, maim, destroy and change forever the lives of unknown, unsuspecting and innocent people is an atrocious thing indeed. Who can imagine such hatred, such evil, such malice among mankind. Surely those that do such diabolical things have an agenda. They desire to be heard. They desire to be famous, there is something in their human spirit that vies for attention. They, at all cost will seek the preeminence as Diotrephes in the Bible that Paul spoke of; he loved the preeminence. He had to be in the center ring at all costs. He had to be the one with the most importance and self value. There was no submission to Authority, there was no obedience to ethics and scruples.
When we think of September 11, 2001 and the three thousand that lost their lives, the extremist army soldier that killed his comrades in Fort Hood Texas, The Recruiter executed in Arkansas by a converted extremist from Memphis, the executions on live feeds all around the world, suicide bombers, the list goes on and on. Do we not remember the Marine Barracks in Beirut. The Bombing of the USS Cole. The Bombings of the World Trade Center in New York; back in the Mid Nineties. The Bombings of our Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, and recently Libya. This is not just isolated events, in actuality this goes back to numerous Highjacked planes in the sixties. Even back then there was a move to infiltrate and destroy innocent lives.
Many were shocked to find out the identity of these two brothers. Some said about the younger that they couldn’t believe it. He was known to be polite, courteous and kind. This is the worst kind of enemy. The one that pretends to be a part or to be a friend and then ambushes or broadsides the unsuspecting. This is a spirit that is evil indeed. God has a place prepared for such evil and wicked individuals. It is called hell. Hell is a horrible place where the soul never dies but lives forever in torment. It is a place of one eternal night without a day. There will be no friends in hell. There will be no happiness in hell. There will be no relief in hell. There will be no parties in hell. Hell is a place for the devil and his angels. The scriptures clearly warn that all liars, thieves, idolaters, murderers and those to do abominations will find their place in the lake of fire.
I know that hell is not a popular subject, but hell is real and hell is hot and hell is eternal.
I had the Privilege of visiting the North East a few years ago on a cruise and had the honor of touring the Great City of Boston. I found the people of Boston, kind, friendly and I truly enjoyed the deep roots of History that pertains to this Great Nation. We should never forget that it was in this very area, as well as others that secured the Freedom of America. The Blood of our Fathers was shed in this area. The Sacrifices of the Men that fought to win and secure the freedoms that we enjoy today is still being felt.
I salute My Fellow Countrymen and Give Honor to them in this time of tragedy. I want to say that I am very Patriotic as well as Spiritual, and I do believe that we have enjoyed the Blessings of God as a Nation. As a Nation we have risen to the occasion to help others secure their freedoms. We have sent foreign aid and Missionaries not only to feed the poor but to show others The Kindness of God. We have provided money to rebuild and help the unfortunate to their feet after Tragedy or hardship. I say GOD BLESS America. I understand that there is a lot of wrong in our Nation. I understand that men of our Nation have lurked in the dark shadows of rebellion and sin. Many have denied the existence of God. I understand that we have a lot that we need to repent for and change. I want to encourage everyone that will listen, let us do as 2 Chronicles 7:14 admonishes us to do.
If my people which are called by my name shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from Heaven and will forgive their sins and will heal their land. May God Bless America. The Scriptures are plain, Righteousness exalts a Nation but sin is a reproach to any people.
The worst kind of enemy is the one that will not repent. The worst kind of enemy is the one that looks at them selves in the mirror and refuses to correct what they really are and what they see. The worst kind of enemy is one that is driven by selfishness, anger, greed, vengeance and hatred. The Person that will not conquer, will not control their lusts and will not or repent of their own weaknesses. The Person in the mirror is our worst enemy. We all have a fallen nature and that is why we need God’s mercy and grace to forgive us and cleanse us and give us a new heart. A heart that delights in the Lord. A heart that believes and submits to the Authority of Almighty God. We need a heart that rejoices in the Truth. It is the Truth that makes free. Let us turn our hearts to the One True God, The Only Potentate, The King of Glory. The Creator and All Mighty God. Our Great Eternal Father. God Help us!!!
GIVE US LIBERTY!!! Our freedoms are all about GOD, AND DOING GOOD. GOD BLESS AMERICA. God resists the Proud but gives grace to the humble. The truely humble.
