Genesis 1: 1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2. And the earth was without form and void; and darkness covered the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3. And God said, Let there be light; and there was light.

In lesson one, we find that GOD created the heaven and the earth. The earth was without form, and void and darkness dwelt upon the face of the deep. The Spirit of God moved the face of the deep and spoke.

In our first lesson we saw that without God, nothing is going to happen. Creation is a Sovereign act of Almighty God. He alone is the Creator. He alone is the Author and He is also the finisher. Without Him we can do nothing. When we behold the orderliness of His Creation, we can only say, what a mighty God. The Bible assures us that He declares the end from the beginning. I am glad that He is The Author and Finisher. He that began a good work in us will perform it. That means He will Finish His Work. All things were made by Him and for Him. My Faith and Hope is in Him. He cannot and will not fail.

We also studied that there is a strong comparison between the Empty Void, and Chaos that we find the Earth in and the emptiness and chaos of a soul without God. Transformation begins when the Spirit moves. We need a move of God. We need to invite Him to have His way. We need to yearn for Him and Call upon Him and Seek Him until we find Him and He rains His Righteousness in us.

In Him we are made complete. In Him we move, we breathe and we have our being.

The Second thing that happened in Creation was God Spoke. Also, in a life when the Spirit of God begins His transformation, God speaks his word in us and things begin to happen. We begin the process of being changed into His likeness. Old things begin to pass away and new things begin to develop. We walk in Newness of Life. When God’s word speaks New Hearts are given. Desires and thoughts change. The God of Miracles speaks into us and we are changed into His Image. We are delivered from sin, Chaos is replaced by decency and orderliness. Confusion is replaced by a sound mind. We receive a new heart. We find ourselves hating the things that once ruled over us. We find love instead of hate. We find Peace instead of turmoil. We find joy in place of gloom and despair. Isaiah prophesied about the Savior giving beauty for ashes. The oil of joy in place of mourning. The garment of praise in place of the spirit of heaviness.

God’s Word begins its process of transformation and line upon line, precept upon precept; we are changed and brought into the marvelous light of His Gospel.

We must always have a hunger and appreciation for His Spoken Word. It is the only way that God has chosen to save mankind. It is the Preaching of the Word, the Spoken Word that brings faith and enlightenment and understanding. His Word heals. His Word saves. His Word Transforms un into His image. Let His Word speak into your heart and produce positive results. God chose Preaching to save them that believe.

Believe His Word.

Genesis 1: 1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2. And the earth was without form and void; and darkness covered the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

The earth that we behold today is a beautiful creation. The orderliness of the planetary system. The distances from the sun and moon and other planets were divinely performed by a God that is bigger than all the heavens itself. What a mighty God. There is none like Him. He was before all things. He is the beginning and the end. The first and the last. The only true God.

No wonder Paul said, in Him we move, we breath, we have our being. He formed man from the dust of the earth and breathed life into him and man became a living soul. David said our bodies are fearfully and wonderfully made. When you think of the complexity of the human body and all the organs and functions, it is a testimony of the Power and Knowledge of Almighty God.

The Scriptures tell us that The earth was made of things that do not appear. Some have wondered how the earth was in the condition that the Bible describes. Was it a judgment of the fallen angels that sinned? Was it a stage of creation when God took nothing and began the process of creation? I wasn’t there, but I know that He was and The Bible states the fact that I accept; In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. It describes the earth at this stage as without form and void and darkness covered the face of the deep.

I know that this also describes a state of worthlessness, a state of emptiness and barren of life. It describes chaos and confusion, nothing recognizable and significant. The Bible tells us that the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the deep. Then God began to speak and we see today the results of a beautiful creation. The Majestic Mountains, the Mighty Seas, The Rolling meadows and the plains. God created a beautiful earth.

This also describes a life without Christ. We are complete in him. Without Him we are nothing. Our lives are void, our lives are incomplete. Our lives are without true purpose and worth. When a person is without God, their life is in darkness and chaos reigns. Sin has reigned over man for about six thousand, but I want you to know that Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners. God Himself the Creator came in the likeness of man to redeem and restore man to Himself. God was in Christ reconciling man unto Himself. He willing laid down His life for you and me. Greater love hath no man than this. What a Gracious and Merciful God.

The Bible tells us that God moved upon the face of the deep, dark, void, chaos and empty earth and change His Power to create went to work. I am glad that when God moves upon the dark, chaos filled and empty lives of men, that true transformation takes place. Only God can change the nature of man. Only God can change the course and destiny of man and make his life a beautiful thing. God moved then and He still does today. Our world needs a move of God. Will you seek Him for a move of God? Will you call upon Him and seek Him with all your heart. He really can and does change men’s hearts.

God Bless.

When we look at the Scriptures we find that men responded to what they believed. Abel believed God and offered an excellent sacrifice that was well pleasing to God. Enoch believed God and developed a relationship with God and God was pleased with his Testimony. Noah believed God and moved with fear and built the Ark that God commanded that became the salvation of his family. Abraham believed God and came out of his father’s homeland and culture. In believing and obeying God he became the Father of the Faithful and Righteous. God made a covenant with Abraham because He trusted Abraham to do that which was right. Righteousness was imputed unto Him. Moses when he was faced with a choice to enjoy the pleasures of Egypt’s sins or the reproach and suffering with the Promised Children of Abraham chose correctly. Egypt offered and flaunted its sin and pleasures before him, but Moses chose the Reproach of Christ.

We find from the scriptures recorded in the Book of Hebrews chapter 11 that many made choices. Choices that was not always easy. Choices that required sacrifice choices that demanded separation, choices that necessitated unwavering resolve. Sometimes there seemed to be an easier way offered by the world, however we have recorded in The Scriptures God’s testimony of their lives. It is recorded that God was not ashamed to be called their God. Their response to God and their desire to please Him, placed them in favor with God. One of the greatest achievements that we can ever achieve is for the Lord to be pleased of us. We are given free choice. We can believe what we want to, even a lie if we want to. There are multitudes that have embraced lies. Lies that say we just evolved and were not created. Lies that say we are accountable to no one, when in fact we will be measured, we will stand before Him, hopefully not having our own righteousness but clothed with His Spirit and Righteousness. The Scriptures tell us that we can believe and lie and be damned. One of the horrors of Judgment day will be those who either deceived themselves or allowed others to deceive them into believing a lie. What we believe is important. Some say it doesn’t matter what you believe as long as you are sincere. That is a lie that is based on the carnal, fleshly, self-serving and sinful human nature. We can be sincerely wrong and totally be deceived into believing a lie. The enemy of man in the Garden of Eden said, “You’ll surely not die.” He was the first preacher of do whatever you want; it doesn’t matter, and do that which pleases you. In other words he was saying, even though God said it, Eve could do as she liked and there would be no consequences. There are those preaching the same message today. The Scriptures tell us to beware of false prophets and deceivers who will turn away many from the Truth and many shall be turned unto fables.

Believing God is necessary. when Jesus was about to be offered as the sacrifice for the sins of the world, he prayed two things. First, He prayed for His Disciples that He was leaving with them the Truth and example of The Power of God, then He prayed for those that would believe on Him according to their words. His Disciples were going to carry this message of Grace and Faith in God to all the World.

If He prayed for his Disciple and for them that would believe on Him according to their words, I think we would be wise in adhering to the Apostles Message. What did they Preach? They Preached Repentance from dead and sinful works. They Preached the necessity of being Baptized in Jesus Name for the Remission of sins and they Preached the Resurrection by being filled with the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. They also preached Christ in them the Hope of Glory. They preached the life of Jesus imparted by the Baptism of the Holy Ghost that would empower them to live an overcoming life.

I would encourage all to read the book of Acts of the Apostles and see what they preached and how men and women responded to their preaching. They Preached Jesus and Great Joy and Victory came to those who believed and responded in faith and obedience to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Epistles were written and inspired by God for the New Testament Believers that had already received the Message of Salvation. The Apostles of the Lamb were not in error. I recently read an article that a famous TV evangelist said the Apostles were in error. He also said that the Apostles need to be rebuked because they preached against certain sins. First of all, the Apostles declared The Word of God. All scriptures were inspired by God. Holy men spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. We need to realize that what was once an abomination to God will always be an abomination in the eyes of God. God will not be mocked. There will be accountability on the day of Judgment. I would even say that this false teacher will not be doing any rebuking on the Day of Judgment. If he doesn’t repent and start preaching what the Apostles preached, there will be weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth. The only rebuking that will take place is when the Lord Jesus Christ comes back and judges in Righteousness. The Apostles of The Lamb and the Lamb himself will be there on that Great Day and those who believed the Truth unto salvation.

It does matter what you believe.

The scriptures tell us that because men received not the Love of the Truth that God turned them over to a reprobate mind and allowed them to believe a lie because they had not pleasure in the Truth. Let us buy the Truth and sell it not.

A Wise man hears and does what the Lord says.

Jesus Christ is coming back in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God and that obey not the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Repent and Believe the Gospel.

We are about to celebrate Labor Day. It is in honor and remembrance of the millions of workers out there that daily perform various tasks. The Factory, office and Plant Workers, The Skilled Tradesmen, like Electricians, Plumbers, Pipefitters, Welders, Ironworkers, Millwrights, Carpenters, Boilermakers, Laborers, Teamsters, Delivery personnel, Production Workers, Medical Workers, Fire and Rescue, Police officers, it seems that there is service of some kind going on everywhere. The list can go on and on. Thank God for workers and the jobs they do. Better yet, Thank God for our jobs. Work is involved in every form of service and labor is involved in every article that is made. The Bible tells us that if a man doesn’t work, neither should he eat. I realize that there are exceptions to this as far as the retired, the truly disabled, etc. I don’t want to be critical or judgmental; however, if an individual is simply a loafer or deadbeat, he doesn’t deserve anything. If an individual is lazy chances are they will not make heaven. Even the Bible tells us that God said we would earn our bread by the sweat of our brow.

The scriptures tell us that we are laborers together with God. Works are important. The scriptures tell us that Jesus is coming back to reward every man according to their works. Our works will be tried in the fire, only what is done for Jesus will stand the test of the one in whom we shall all give account. The Bible tells us that Faith without works is dead because it is alone. Faith in God will cause us to seek Him and Worship Him and Witness for him. The scriptures tell us that Jesus was anointed with the Holy Ghost and went about doing good. He preached hope to the hopeless; He ministered grace to the hearers. He was a man of good works. The scriptures tell us that The Apostles went everywhere preaching the Gospel and doing good. The scriptures also tell us that The Lord worked with them confirming the Word with signs following. The Bible in every dispensation is about stewardship. It is required of stewards that a man be found faithful. Jesus challenged us to work while it is yet day, because the night comes when no man shall work.

As Believers let us arise and do good. Let us be about the Fathers Business.

Power

Power is energy, strength, force, might, control, influence, authority, rule, command, clout, muscle, sway, dominance, dominion, ability.  The list can go on and on.   As humans we all exercise power every day.  Whether a supervisor at work or a parent giving instructions to a child, or a  teacher in the classroom, a police officer, a nurse or medical worker giving care to a patient, we all use power every day and most of the time give no or little thought to its value or ability to do good or evil.

Power is exactly that.  Whether Christian or atheist we all have power of choice.  We can choose the direction we take.  We can choose to apply that power, to do good or evil.  We can heal, or we can hurt.  We can speak kindness or harshness and criticism.  We can abuse and misuse power or we can allow power to cause a good outcome.  Power can be used carnally, selfishly for personal gain, or it can be used to be unselfish and generous.  With power we can turn the other cheek, go the second mile, forgive, be kind, use our ability to do good or we can be unforgiving, cruel, caustic, critical, and judgmental.  Power is exactly that, it is the ability to perform.

Satan was given power, he was the anointed cherub that was designed to cover God with Praise, he was not content fulfilling his calling, he wanted more, and more, he wanted to exalt himself above God.  Instead of humbling himself and cheerfully operating within his calling, he sought to overthrow and he abused his power and sealed his destiny.

Cain was given the power to choose right and wrong.  He was angry without cause; he had the power to do right or wrong.  God approached him and gave him the opportunity to do good, he defiantly chose evil.  In anger he abused his power and murdered his brother.  It is amazing to me that even though he was given another chance to do right and be accepted by God, he hardened his heart and resisted.  He had the power to get it right to make it right but he abused his opportunity and defiantly resisted GOD’s admonition.  What is more amazing is that even God couldn’t reason with him.  Cain knew what was right, he had the power to do right, he simply chose to abuse his power.

All through the Bible and the history of men, there has been recorded proof of the abuse of power and there are plenty of examples of men and women using power for good.  The question remains; How will we use the power given us?  Will we use it for good or will we use it for evil.  The Bible teaches us that a Righteous man falls seven times but he gets back us again.  He may fall but he arises because he has hope in God’s Mercy and Grace.  Of course it is hard for someone to get back up when there are those abusing their power that are kicking him and punching him.  The scriptures also teach us that the spiritual ones are to restore.  What we have is the power of choice. We can go ahead and finish the job and kill the hope of someone getting back up or we can restore with kindness and the love of God.  It really is about power.  How will we use the power?  I have been used to restore and I hope I never crush someone who has been overcome in a weakness.  God help us to be merciful.  The Bible is plain, we will be shown mercy when we extend mercy.  If we are not merciful and forgiving neither will our Heavenly Father Show us Forgiveness and Mercy.

I know a man and worship with a man that is a True Christian.  He is a member of the Great Church that God has allowed me to Pastor.  I have known him for many years and he is a True Christian.  He, like Jesus is a friend of sinners.  He loves Children.   He is longsuffering with those who have not always made the best choices.  If there was a picture in the dictionary for Christian, his picture would be posted beside the Definition.  Over the years he has shown kindness and grace.  He has been a voice of hope to those who saw little hope.  I am honored for this man to call me Pastor.  The more I see his life I see consistency everywhere.  As a matter of fact, we have many in our Church, men and women that are this way.  They have gone through great trials and afflictions, but they hang in there and show the Love of God consistently.  They have shown me and my Family Kindness and Grace.  They supported me and help me and my wife’s hands up in the day of battle.  I am thankful for each one.  I think that somewhere they have grabbed ahold of the power that  they had, and used it for Good.  Isn’t that what Jesus calls us to do?  He told his Apostles to heal the sick, preach deliverance to the captives, open the eyes of the blind, set at liberty those that are bruised, to bring others into an acceptable state.  That was His Ministry, and He has called us to walk in the world for Him.

Jesus was challenged by the religious that had rocks in their hands, they wanted to trap him.  They brought a woman caught in the act of adultery and aid Moses and the laws states that she must be stoned to death, what do you say.  Jesus did not disagree with this truth; He simply chose the path of restoration above death and destruction.  He said, let him that is without sin cast the first stone”; they all walked away in silence.  He turned to the woman and said, go and sin no more, neither do I condemn you.  O What Grace, O What Mercy, O what Kindness.  Through the years, I helped a Brother Find restoration and He has a Successful ministry.  I could have kicked him when he was down, I could have crushed his already humiliated spirit, but I chose to restore and we prayed and got deliverance.  Isn’t this really the intent of the Word of God to do good and not hurt?  Jesus could have said shame on you and turned to the mob and said, you are right, go ahead and crush her skull in.  He chose the path of mercy and restoration.  It’s the high way.  It’s God’s way.

Jesus was approved and anointed with the Holy Ghost and went about doing good and healing all those who were oppressed of the devil.  He has given us power to do good.  He said you shall receive power after that the Host Ghost is come upon you and you shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem and in Judea and unto the uttermost parts of the World.

When we use the power given us to do good, we feel good, when we abuse the power and choose the path of doing  evil.  The Power of Choice is ours.  Let us be Christ like and shown the kindness of God.  After all, we all need it and need to show it as well.

A famous commercial advertises “Just Do It”.  Of course they use their advertisment to say that with their products they empower you to accomplish the unacheived.  It is a great admonition.  “Just Do It!”  It is a powerful statement.  It is thought provoking.  It says that you can accomplish that which you have never done before.   It is an approval to go forth, an approval to enjoy victory.  A go ahead and tackle what needs to be done.  In the Bible we find the original,” just do it!”

It happened early in the ministry of Jesus of Nazareth.  He was invited to attend a wedding feast.   The wedding feast was filled with guests and as time wore on, the Groom ran out of wine.  Mary, knowing that He was Born by the Will of God and knew that He had a special ministry ahead of Him, approached Him and He replied that His hour had not yet come.  She turned to the attendants and said, what ever He says, “DO It”

The servants did exactly what He said.  He said, “fill the water pots to the brim”, they filled the water pots to the brim.  He said, “Draw out now and give to the Govenor of the Feast” and they drew out and gave to the Governor of the Feast.  When the Govenor tasted he was surprised and said to the Bride Groom, You have saved the best until last.  A miracle transpired.  Jesus turned the water into wine.   How did the miracle happen?  It happened because someone was willing to do what He said do.  When we obey Jesus and do what He says, we align ourselves with the Master and a Miracle is awaiting.  Obedience is required.  God give mracles to those who will trust and obey.  If you need a miracle, humble yourself and pray.  Go ahead, Just do it.  O taste and see that the Lord is good.  Align yourself with Jesus Word and do what He says do.  We need to take to heart the admonition from God’s Word that doing what Jesus says is all that really matters.

Obedience is better than sacrifice.  To hearken and obey the voice of God is so much needed in this day of a self willed population.   The scriptues even tell us that we must have an ear to hear what the Spirit saying.  We need to have a listeneing ear for the voice of God.  Jesus said, “my sheep hear my voice and they follow.”

When it come to salvation, Just do it, Obey the scriptures.  Repent and be baptised and receive the Holy Ghost.  Peter told the jews on the day of Pentecost to Repent and be baptised i the name of Jesus Christ and they would receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.  They that obey his word and were baptised, God added them to the church by filling them with the Holy Ghost.  Just do it.   God give the Holy Ghost to those that obey Him.

In Jesus Name.  Just do it, you’ll be glad you did.

Hebrews 6: 1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,  2.  Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of the laying on of hands, and of the resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

We have previously studied the foundational doctrines of the Lord Jesus Christ and His Church.  Repentance from Dead Works, Faith towards God, The Doctrine of Baptisims, Water Baptisism and Spirit Baptism, The Doctrine of Laying on of hands, The Resurrection of the Dead, and now Eternal Judgment.

Eternal Judgment is not a popuar subject.  Men deny it, ignore it, denounce it and dis-beleive it, but is shall come to pass.  The Doctrine of Eternal Judgment is certain and we shall all stand before God and give account.  Men will give account of every evil thought, every evil action, every lie, every word spoken, every act of hatred and envy, every false way, every sin done against the body and the spirit.  There will be hiding place, no escape, no ignoring or denouncing it on that day.  It is appointed unto men once to die and after this the Judgment.  The scriptures are sure, we shall all stand before him and give account.  The sea will give up the dead, the graves shall be opened, and all shall come forth, some unto the Resurrection of the Just and some unto the resurrection of eternal damnation.  Men will not be able to lie his way out of it.  There will be no hiding place.  All shall stand before Him and be judged out of the open books.  The open books will be the Word of God, the Bibe that was Divinely inspired and written for our admonition.  There will be no excuses that will be of value.  O that day, mens hidden secrets shall come to light, all shall be revealed.  Sins that were hiden in darkness shall come to light and be judged by the Righteous Judge.  On that day there shall be weeping and gnashing  teeth.  Of all the horrific tragedies that have happened, eternal judgment will be the final payday, some will be ushered into Heaven and the majority shall be cast into the lake of fire that burns forever and ever.  It is said that there will be no unbelievers in hell.  There will be no atheist in hell.  Hell is a horrible place, a place of the devil and his angels, a place of torment, a place of full recollection, a place of sorrow, a place of one eternal night without a day.  There will be no partying in hell, there will be no vices in hell to drown out ones sorrows, no alchohol, no tobacco, no drugs to altar the mind that is in constant torment.  Some have errantly proclaimed that they want to go to hell because that is where all their friends will be.  The problem with that there will be no friendships in hell.  It is a place of torment, a place where the fire is not quenched, a place of everlasting punishment from the presence of God and His Holy Angels.  Man can not imagine how horrible this place of eternal abode will be.  Hot is hot and hell is certain.

Heaven on the other hand is a place where the righteous shall spend eternity.  It is a place of Righteousnes, peace and joy.  It is a beautiful place where the Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ himslef shall be the Light of that city.  Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people.  There will be more sorrows in Heaven, no more pain, no more sin, no more crime, no more evil, no more tears will fill the eyes of those who make themselves ready against Judgment.  God Himself, shall wipe away the tears form the eyes of those in that Celestrial City.  There will be no more death, no more sicknes, no funerals, no unrighteousness shall enter that city.  Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people.  Let us Prepare for eternity.

2 Thessalonians 1: 7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, 8.  in flaiming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God and that obey not the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

From these scriptures we find two requirments to escape the judgment and overthrow.  Jesus is coming back in flaiming fire and He is going to judge those who know not God and Obey Not the Gospel.  We must know God and we must obey The Gospel of Jesus.

How do We Prepare?  The foundational Doctrines of Christ which we have discussed (In Part), is your beginning.

You must repent from dead works.  Confess and forsake your sins, turn to God and ask forgivenenss.  See Jesus Christ and realize that He died in your place for your sins.  We all be born with a fallen nature.  By nature we were the children of wrath, alliens and foriegners to the promises of God because of sin.  We must ask Jesus to forgive and cover our sins by the precious Blood He shed.  While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.  Beleive it and turn to God in Repentance calling on the Lord Jesus Christ. (Please see Lesson 1)

You must Have Faith towards God – Humble yourself and submit yourself, start seeking Him and obeying Him.  Follow after Him, Learn of Him.  Hunger and thrist after Him.  Seek Him with all your heart. (Please see Lesson 2)

You Must Obey The Doctrine of Water Baptism in Jesus Name.  After all He is the one that died for our sins and transgressions.  Take on His Name in Water Baptism.  (Please see The Doctrine of Water Baptism –  Lesson 3)

You Must Be Filled with The Holy Ghost.  The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Jesus.  His Spirit makes us sons of God.  His Spirit leads us into all Truth.  His Spirit reproves all sin and empowers us to become His Witnesses.  His Spirit comforts us and directs our paths.  (Please see The Doctrine of Holy Ghost Baptism – Lesson 4)

You must embrace by Faith the Doctrine of Laying on of Hands. (Please see Lesson 5)

You must Embrace the Doctrine of The Resurrect of the Dead. (Please see Lesson 6)

You must prepare for Eternal Judgment.

I teach and share these Truths because I am simply His Servant.  I, as well as every other person from all nations have need of the Savior.  The Scriptures are Truth, Christ died for all.  He is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.  Please Prepare yourself against that day.  Don’t be a procrastinator, don’t play games with God.  Repent and turn to God.  Obey His Gospel and Develope a relationship with Him.  Please don’t get settled in a form of religion that has no power to change your life and transform you into His Image.  That is what He desires to do is transform you, but in oder for Him to do that you have to join yourself with True Believers and become submissive to Pastoral Authority.   We all need a Pastor.  How can we believe on Him in whom we have not heard and how can we hear without a preacher.  Remember, God chose Preaching to save them that beleive.  He wants you to Know Him and Obey Him.  If  He made every prepration for us to spent eternity with Him the least we can do is learn of Him and Obey Him.  God loves you and amade preparations for you to escape Judgment.

When We all get to Heaven, What a Day that will be, when we all see Jesus, we will sing and shout the victory.

Pastor Robinson

Hebrews 6: 1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,  2.  Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of the laying on of hands, and of the resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

John 5: 28 Marvel not at this; for the hour is coming. in the which all that are in the graves shall hear His voice, 29 And shall come forth; they have have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil unto the resurrection of damnation.

The Resurrection of the dead is a foundational doctrine of the Church.  There is coming a day when all shall stand before him and shall be rewarded for their words,  and deeds.

Rev. 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled awa; and there was found no place for them.  12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God: and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.  13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

The Resurrection of the dead will come and there will be no hiding place for men.  Many will seek to escape but there will be no hiding place.  Some will cry out to the mountians to fall on them and hide them from the face of the one sitting upon the throne.  The scoffer will be without excuse, the atheist will be without excuse.  The idolator will be without excuse.   The procrastinator will be with out excuse.  There will be no opportunity to make things right on resurrection day.  He is coming again.  What a day that will be.  The scriptures tell us that day will catch many unaware.  He is coming in a day and hour that many will not be looking for Him.  Surely every Knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.  He will come back Paul said at the last trump.  The trumpet shall sound and the dead in Christ shall rise first and then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them to meet the Lord in the Air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  This speaks of a comforting resurection.  A resurection of the Saint of God.

There are different resurrections in the last days.  A resurrection of Beleivers and a Resurection of non beleivers.  The Bible says blessed and holy is he that has part in the first resurrection.  The Resurection is a Foundational Doctrine of The Church.  We need to get ready against that day and hour.  In other words we need to humble ourselves and submit ourselves unto God.  His reward is with Him to give every man according to his works.  He is the Righteous God.  He makes no errors concerning our destiny.  As Christians we need to live in a satte of preparedness because we do not know the day or the hour when He shall appear.

Men today, if they don’t want to face an upcoming event, they cancel, delay or pospone.  In that day, there will be no option, no hiding place.  We shall all meet the Creator and Redeemer, the Holy One that  reighns.  He will come again, and You will stand before Him and give account.

The resurrection of the dead is a powerful doctrine of the Church indeed.  It talks about God raising us up to sit together in heavenly places.  It is in reference to the Resurection of beleivers who are filled with His Spirit and Baptized in His name.  They were once dead in sins and trespasses against God, but they they are raised up to walk in newness of life.

Let us Prepare ourselves and Hear Him say, well done thou good and faithful servant.

The Bible tells us that to be a wise builder, we must hear and do what Jesus said.  God told Moses that he would raise up a Faithful Servant that would do His Will and all that He Commands.  He also went on to say that they that hear and obeys His Voice would be blessed and those that will not hear that Prophet would be destroyed.  It is important that we be wise builders by hearing and doing what Jesus says.  That empowers us to live a victorious life, a life that is blessed by God.  Faith without works is dead as James said.  The Just shall live by faith.  Faith in God overcomes the world and all of life’s trials.  Faith also causes us to spring into action.

We have previously studied the Doctrines of Repentance from dead works, Faith towards God, The Doctrine of Water Baptism, and The Doctrine of Spirit Baptism.  Now we look at the Doctrine of Laying on of hands.  The Hand is a marvelous creation by God.  The hand can be used to carry loads, lift burdens, Caress, Show Kindness, Comfort, Give assistance, or a gift, it can be used to minister and show kindness.  The hand can be used to save, rescue and even give life.  The Fingers, a part of the hand are tremendously strong.  The hand can also be used to crush, destroy, wound, smite, steal, kill and destroy.  The Hand is a powerful tool that God has given us to assist us in life.  We use the hand so much in a days time and never consider or give a second thought to the Powerful tool that God gave us to do good.

When sacrificing they would take the sacrificial offering and lay their hands upon the head of the animal and verbally call out their sins over the animal.  That scape goat was then taken far out into the wilderness and let go.  The other was sacrificed for the sins.  This was a type of how Christ was both sacrificed for our sins and bore or sins upon himself by carrying them away into the sea of forgetfulness.  What a Kind and Gracious God we serve.  That is why we lift our hands in praise unto our Creator / Redeemer, the God that unconditionally loved us while we were yet sinners.

In the Bible we find many in the Old Testament that used their hands to bless by laying their hands on the head of a child, a son, a daughter, a servant, as they prayed over them.  Laying on of hands was practiced by Abraham and Isaac and Jacob.  The Hebrews practiced this ritual throughout their generations.

Jesus took little children up in his arms, put his hands upon them and blessed them.

Jesus laid hands on the sick and they were healed.  There was a woman that for eighteen years had suffered with an infirmity that left her bowed and she could not lift herself, Jesus laid his hands upon her and she was healed.  He touched the leper and they were cleansed.  He touched the blind eyes and they were healed.  He touched the deaf ears and they heard.  He touched even the dead and they were raised back to life again.  There is creative power in the hands.

The Apostles practiced laying on of hands.  When they laid hands on seekers of God they were filled with the Holy Ghost.  In the Book of Acts 8:17 Peter and John laid hands upon the Samaritans that believed and were Baptized in water, but they had not yet received the Holy Ghost.  It tells us that They laid their hands upon them and they received the Holy Ghost.  In Acts 19:7 And when Paul laid his hands upon them, they spake with tongues and prophesied.  This was speaking of the disciples that were Baptized with Johns Baptism at Ephesus.

Acts 5:12And by the hands of the Apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people;

Spiritual gifts were imparted when Apostles and Prophets of the early church laid their hands on believers.  In the book of Acts, as the Church grew, there was a need to incorporate and ordain additional ministers and the Apostles laid their hands upon them and prayed over them, ordaining them into the ministry.  The elders at Antioch were commanded by God to send forth Paul and Barnabas to minister as missionaries.  They obeyed by laying their hands on them and praying over them.

The Laying on of hands was practiced by faith as believers in God in both the Old Testament and the New Testament.  We too should practice laying on hands, by faith.  The Scriptures tell us to lift up Holy Hands, to cleanse our hands, to handle the word of life with our hands.  Our hands should be instruments of kindness and compassion, we should use our hands for good because Jesus did Daily, ministering to the needy, but not only that He stretched our His hands and was nailed to The Cross.  I once heard of a pastor that would not anoint with oil and lay his hands on someone to pray for them.  What a tragedy, to supposedly be a preacher of the Gospel and refuse to anoint with on and lay hands on someone because they didn’t want to be labeled with those that practice this.  I think it is time that we humble ourselves and start practicing the things The Apostles of The Lamb did.

James 5: 14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the Church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil, in the name of the LORD:

Mark 16: 18 …they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.

GOD Bless.

So Far we have Studied three Foundational Doctrines of the Church and The Apostles of Jesus Christ.  We have studied the Doctrine of Repentance form Dead Works, the Doctrine of Faith towards God and The Doctrine of Water Baptism.  Today, I want to explore the Doctrine of Spirit Baptism or Holy Ghost Baptism.  The Holy Ghost is Christ in us the Hope of Glory.  The Holy Ghost is The Promise of The Father.  That Promise goes all the way back to the Garden of Eden, when God said that He would use the seed or offspring of woman to bring about Revival and Restoration.  What had happened was the introduction of sin and separation from God.  God’s plan of redemption extends to all men everywhere.  God is no respecter of Persons.  Christ died for all men.  That Promise was extended and confirmed in Abraham where He Promised that in Abraham’s seed would all families of the earth be blessed.  Truly The Baptism of the Holy Ghost is Righteousness, Peach and Joy.

The Baptism of the Holy Ghost is the earnest of our inheritance.  The Baptism of the Holy Ghost is the comforter.  The Spirit of truth.  The Teacher to instruct us to walk in all righteousness and truth.  The Holy Ghost was poured out on the Day of Pentecost.  Jesus told the Apostles and Disciples to go back to Jerusalem and wait for the Promise.  They did exactly that, they waited about ten days and then on the Day of Pentecost, the Holy fell on them and they began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit of God gave them the utterance.  God supernaturally used this event to cause men to ask, what does this mean.  These men that were gathered in Jerusalem heard them speak the wonderful works of God in an unknown tongue.  Peter told them that this was prophesied by the Old Testament Prophet Joel, saying that in the last days God would pour His Spirit out upon all flesh.  He also preached to them about their need to have faith in God.  They knew that some fifty days earlier some of them screamed, crucify him, crucify him.  Now they were convicted and asked men and brethren, what shall we do.  Peter answered unto them, Repent and be Baptised everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ and You shall receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost.  About Three Thousand that day obeyed Peter’s words and God added them to the Church.

In Acts chapter eight Philip took the Gospel to Samaria and Preached Jesus Christ.  They Believed and were Baptized in water, they had great joy, miracles were done and many were healed and delivered from the oppression of the devil,  but up until now no one but the Jews had received the Gift of the Holy Ghost.  Peter and John were sent to Samaria to pray for these that they might receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost.  They laid hands on them and they did receive the Promise of the Father.  While it does not tell us exactly what happened, something supernatural did happen, because when Simon the sorcerer saw that through the laying on of the Apostles hands the Holy Ghost was given he offered them money that he could have this same gift.  This event intrigued him, but Peter rebuked him because Peter told him that his money perish with him, because he thought the gift of God could be purchased with Money.

In Acts chapter ten we read about a man named Cornelius, he was a just man, he prayed, fasted, sought God, gave gifts to the people.  He in many ways had a heart for God.  God allowed him to see an Angel that instructed him to send for Simon Peter because Peter would tell him words whereby he and his house could be saved.  While God was working on Cornelius, He was also working on Simon Peter by showing him a vision that caused him to see that the Gospel was to all men, not just the Jews.  Simon was commanded y God in his vision that he was to go with these men back to Cornelius house and not doubt.  When Simon went he took six Holy Ghost filled brethren with him and was very wise to do so, because later he would be questioned why he took the Gospel to the Gentiles.  They would become witnesses of God Pouring His Spirit out upon the Gentiles.  Peter began to preach and as He Preached The Gospel the Holy fell on them that heard the word and the Jewish brethren that came with Peter could believe it because the Gentiles received the Promise of the Father.  The reason why they were astonished was because they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God just like they did on the day of Pentecost.  Peter then commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and they were.

In Acts 19, The Apostle Paul took the Gospel to Ephesus and he encountered about twelve men that had believed the preaching of John the Baptist.  Paul said, have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed, and they responded that they had not heard of the Holy Ghost.  Paul asked them how they were Baptized and they sad according to Johns Baptism.  Paul explained that John was the forerunner of Christ Jesus and His ministry consisted of preparing men to receive Christ.  When they heard this, Paul commanded them to be Baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ and they were.  He then lays hands upon them and they received the Gift of the Holy Ghost and Spoke with tongues and Prophesied.

Many people down play, even mock this supernatural New Birth Experience.  Some even come dangerously close to Blaspheming the Holy Ghost in their mockery.  They ignorantly mock and try to explain away something that they have not experienced and do not have any knowledge of the scriptures and the Promise of the Father.  Peter said it clearly, the Promise is unto you, your children, those that are far off, and to as many as the Lord of God calls.

Have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed?  It is the New Birth of Water and Spirit that fulfills John 3, where Jesus said You must be born again of the Water and of the Spirit.

Receive The Holy Ghost.  We are baptized into one body by His Spirit.  It is the Spirit of adoption.
